Why is getting a party on Fenrir so impossible? On Phoenix it was a five minute waiting time, but I didn’t like the server for various reasons that it’s not my place to talk about. Yet here, we waited for an hour for a party in Qufim. It failed. We were both in Sandy and asked a NIN in Jeuno if he wanted to party. He said yes, I told him we’d be running most of the way, and he said that was okay, he didn’t mind waiting. We picked up a THF on the way (without stopping) and had to take a two minute break to kill a Tiger that the THF pulled, and then we arrived in Jeuno and I sent an invite, after talking to the NIN via tells for most of the journey, him sounding enthusiastic. He declined the offer.
“I’m logging. You took too long.” I said that I had warned him we’d take a while since we were running from Sandy, and he said, “Yeah, I guess, I’m sorry.” Fair enough. I told him it was nice to meet him. Then he runs past us in a party. Logging clearly worked out well for him! I said, “Why didn’t you just tell me you had another party? I don’t mind.” He said, “I’m not in a party.” Don’t lie dude. It’s pretty obvious when you’re darting about with people in Qufim smacking stuff.
Anyway, we gathered a party and our tank had to go get stuff from Sandy, then our RDM needed to get dinner, so all in all, an hour and a half after we got the party sorted we finally got playing. And our RNG died because of a pair of Giants. So getting him a Raise was fun, then we headed to camp Land Worms and Clippers. It was fine for…two kills. Then someone pulled one Clipper and our RNG pulled another (since he was the one doing the pulls) and the party wiped. It was more than a little harsh. Trisk and I, and the RDM, had Reraise (due to scrolls on our part) and so we were up shortly, but by that stage it was nearly 1am so there wasn’t much point in playing since we both need to go to bed for college/work. Wholly dissatisfying! But thanks to Val and Nadime for putting up with us and being friendly and fun. I hope to party with both of you soon, and I hope Nadime had a good time on her first tip to Qufim!
